Vercel is evolving to meet the expanding potential of AI while staying grounded in the principles that brought us here. We're extending from frontend to full stack, deepening our enterprise capabilities, and powering the next generation of AI applications, including integrating AI into our own developer tools.

Today, we’re welcoming Keith Messick as our first Chief Marketing Officer to support this growth and (as always) amplify the voice of the developer.

A rich background in marketing to developers

Keith is a longtime enterprise CMO and comes to Vercel from Redis. There, he oversaw a 100-person team across brand, demand generation, product marketing, technical marketing, and marketing operations. He previously helped create the Feature Management category at LaunchDarkly, and led marketing at DialPad and Lucidworks.

Keith blends commercial insight, creative vision, analytical mindset, and technical empathy, shaped by his experience as both a founder and a developer. He jokingly calls his early career persona “the world’s worst self-taught C developer with a marketing degree.” I’m pleased to report Keith’s development skills have vastly improved with the help of v0.

A look ahead at Vercel marketing

Whether it’s an exchange on X with Guillermo or a one-sentence billboard on the 101, we value direct engagement with our community. It’s an ethos that will continue to inspire Keith as we deepen Vercel’s role at the crossroads of creativity and technical innovation.

Keith joins a Marketing team that are deeply native to the web. This team has recently spearheaded launches like AI Gateway, v0 composite models, Vercel Blob GA, Flags Explorer GA, Chat SDK, and Fluid compute.

The team is growing, with open roles for Content Engineers, Customer Marketers, Field Marketers, and more. If you want to help shape Vercel’s story and how people experience AI and the web, let's talk.

Please join me in welcoming Keith to Vercel.
