About the Role:

Vercel is seeking a revenue accountant to join our growing accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting, this role will support the accounting close process and assist in projects that will streamline close procedures and automate the Order to Cash process, including the integration of the billing and revenue systems. Additionally, this role will help implement initiatives to strengthen our financial operations as we scale from a late-stage startup to a company prepared to one day become a public company.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the month-end close process by preparing revenue related journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist accounting team in documenting close procedures for public readiness.

  • Implement and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with ASC 606.

  • Perform analytical reviews to provide insights to internal stakeholders to help drive business decisions.

  • Help the revenue accounting team implement improvements to automate and scale the Order to Cash process.

  • Provide support during audits. Ensure that all accounting practices comply with internal controls and external regulations.

  • Collaborate with other teams to analyze financial data, ensuring proper recognition of revenue.

  • Assist with revenue projects and process improvement initiatives as they arise.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 1 year at a Big 4 accounting firm. Previous experience working in SaaS, preparing revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close tasks is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel).

  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus!

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passionate about learning and adaptable to a high paced, fast-growing company.

  • Located in SF Bay Area.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
